Marcel Buerkle, A talent chap from South Africa got in touch recently and asked if he could use some of my sketches for a packaging concept. I think he did a great job and it has been very interesting for me to see my work in another context. Could be a nice gift idea...

Graphite IPad App
I was recently given a free copy of an iPad app called Graphite to try out. It has quite a small selection of drawing tools - basically a pencil and a couple of pastel/charcoal type tools and two sorts of earaser. It's simplicity is its strong point - the tools make pleasing marks and the uncluttered interface means it's fun to use.
I think the full version is £1.99 but there's a free lite version - definitely worth a look.

Frank Lockhart's 1928 Stutz Black Hawk
I've made a pair of new prints of the illustration I did for The Automobile magazine. It shows Frank Lockhart's beautiful Stutz Black Hawk which achieved over 203mph at Daytona beach in 1928.

Nautiluses
After watching 20,000 Leagues under the Sea my son and I decided to sketch our own submarine designs. This thumbnailing process is something I often do for my work as an animation director and I always like the end result of lots of little themed sketches on a single page.
